Kidsgrove Sports Centre

94.79 kWp

Kidsgrove Sports Centre proudly received a grant from the Sports England Swimming Pool Support Fund.

With this grant, ACT meticulously designed a sustainable energy system tailored to the centre's budgetary needs. Our team specified and installed cutting-edge Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels and battery storage solutions to optimise energy generation and self-consumption.

The Sports Centre featured 213 solar modules strategically mounted on its flat roof areas, significantly reducing the impact of rising electricity costs. These solar modules were expected to generate approximately 69.23 MWh of clean energy annually, contributing to a substantial reduction in the centre's carbon footprint.

We utilised Esdec for the flat roof mounting and SolarEdge Technologies for the inverter, battery, and optimisers. The SolarEdge system enhanced the overall efficiency and reliability of the solar installation, ensuring maximum energy production even in partially shaded conditions. Additionally, the site was equipped with a firefighter gateway connected to the fire alarm system, providing an extra layer of safety from the SolarEdge equipment.

By investing in solar energy, Kidsgrove Sports Centre not only reduced its environmental impact but also set a benchmark for other community facilities.

ACT recently delivered our solar panel installation project. They managed the whole project and also assisted with the requirements and reporting we needed to fulfil our funders requirements. We would definitely recommend ACT to anyone, they are extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
